چکیده

This document discusses how inter-domain routing using Shared Risk Group (SRG) may be used for computing diverse paths, and also discusses the extensions that we propose for routing (and eventually signaling) protocols. The concepts proposed in this document are useful to provide the requested intelligent control plane for multi-layered networks. Notice: This contribution has been created to assist the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF). This document is offered to the OIF solely as a basis for discussion and is not a binding proposal on the companies listed as resources above. Each company in the source list, and the OIF, reserves the rights to at any time to add, amend, or withdraw statements contained herein. Group shared protection for spare capacity reconfiguration in optical networks

This paper introduces GSP, a group shared protection scheme, for wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) mesh networks with dynamically arrived connection requests. Based on the (M:N) control architecture, GSP has n mutually independent protection groups (PGs), each of which containing N shared risk link groups (SRLG) disjoint working paths protected by M protection paths. Due to the SRLG-disjoi...

Network Working Group Border Gateway Multicast Protocol (bgmp): Protocol Specification

This document describes the Border Gateway Multicast Protocol (BGMP), a protocol for inter-domain multicast routing. BGMP builds shared trees for active multicast groups, and optionally allows receiver domains to build source-specific, inter-domain, distribution branches where needed. BGMP natively supports "source-specific multicast" (SSM). To also support "any-source multicast" (ASM), BGMP re...
